Miss Understanding

We had a guy coming over today to tint the fixed glass windows in the living room so we had to cancel plans for the splash pad and hang out at home. My friend Lori offered to come over and hang out with us. We were upstairs while all the kids played in the basement. The kids had come up and I told them that they needed to clean up the toys downstairs. I said that they could keep the blocks out but they needed to put the miscellaneous toys away. Liam came over and asked "Who's Miss Laney?". I said "What?". He asked "Which toys are Miss Laney's?". It then dawned on me he had misunderstood what I had said. I just had to laugh as I tried to explain what miscellaneous meant.

21st Century Boy

I was doing the hokey pokey with Liam today and he was really getting into it. We were on our left arm when Liam suddenly stopped and said, "Mommy, pause the game, I have to go potty" and ran to the bathroom. It was SO funny! He came back and said "okay, start it". I love it when my kids make me laugh :)

Happy Birthday America!

We celebrated the 4th of July yesterday. Mike had to work but my parents went with me and the boys to a cookout/ pool party at Bryan and Lori's. The boys had a blast swimming but it was a litle too cold for me. Too bad since I was looking forward to swimming. We had some good food and a relaxing time. The kids got to do sparklers and Bryan set off some small fireworks. The smaller kids were leery but Noah laughed and clapped when one went off. He has NO fear. From there, we went straight to the fireworks. They actually started a few minutes early and did a good show. Noah was more excited about playing with the steering wheel and making the vanity light on the visor come on than about the fireworks. Landon and Noah were both out before we got home. Landon never did wake up and slept on the couch. Noah woke up for a minute but went right back to sleep...sand covered. I didnt have the heart to wash him off before bed. Connor and Liam didn't last too long and thankfully they all slept in. Connor didn't get up until 9:00. Hopefully, Mike will be able to be with us next year.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame!

Our church had "Crossroads" night at the ball field in Johnson City this past Sunday night so we decided to take the boys. Before the game, the church had a cookout with free hotdogs, chips, amd drinks. We enjoyed the picnic and then headed up to the bleachers which thankfully were covered since the sky was looking pretty dark. The kids were excited, at least for the first 30 minutes. Connor did great and Landon did okay but Liam and Noah were VERY restless. Liam did entertain himself for while by flirting with the little girl behind us :) Noah went back and forth between Mike and I and then decided it was fun to crawl around on the ground. Whatever kept him entertained! The clouds burst in the 2nd inning and the covered bleachers came in handy. No lightening though so the game went on. They had a dance contest at one point and the winner got a free pizza. I tried to get Connor to dance but he wouldn't go for it. We made it through the 6th inning and then headed home. Next time, it may be just me, Mike and Connor.
